Despite the appalling weather, or because of it, the Lonicera Scentsation is doing sensationally as is the loganberry vine. Both are churning out flowers or berries. At least something is happy about our English summer. It is the first day of summer today, rainy and miserable and I do hope that this isn't the way it means to continue.

To the right of the above photo is a climbing rose called Aloha. To the left is the well known climbing rose, New Dawn. You can just see at the far left of the photo, climbing up towards the trellis, the jasmine officinale which has taken off this year. Took it long enough! It's been growing since 2010 and hasn't flowered yet. But it's all my own fault. I planted it in a north facing aspect and they like full sun. I reckon once it gets to the top of the fence it might be happy because it will get sun from the south then. We'll see.
While typing I can hear the rain absolutely bouncing down. I mean, bouncing down like it does in the Caribbean in the rainy season. The gutters cannot cope with such downpours and the water is filling my hanging baskets which are going to be ruined at this rate! I did once try to take them down in a downpour but they weigh a ton and I got soaked. They will have to take their chances.
Anyway, as I was saying about my garden. The loganberries are doing fantastically well. They make the raspberries look pathetic. If you click on any of the images on my website you should get a close up of the photo. The whole plant is very big so you are only seeing a small part of it here. There are no thorns, just lots of fruit on long branches. You just cut the branches down to the ground when the fruiting is over. New branches are already shooting up for next year's crop.
