I visited the Thorp Perrow Arboretum today at Bedale in North Yorkshire. I hadn't been there for at least 20 years and I couldn't have picked a more beautiful day. The weather was sunny but not too hot and I was able to take lots of photographs of the beautiful grounds. Unfortunately, it was a little late in the year to appreciate the fine cherry tree walk there but some flowers lingered on. One flower that I have never seen growing in such abundance was the strikingly blue Meconopsis. I took a couple of photographs on my Sony Hazel mobile phone - in fact, all my website photos are taken on my mobile phone - and I think they came out quite well considering I couldn't get close to them. I'll be adding more posts of my visit today but, for now, here are the meconopsis. Fabulous, aren't they?
